Virginia Tech Civil and Environmental Engineering alumnus Steve Ahart (B.S ’85, M.S. ’86) and his brother Dave are among those people. It didn’t take long for crowds to gather around the centerpiece of the Earth Day Festival –two shiny fully-electric tesla cars. Curious onlookers cirled the cars and peered into their "frunk" – a second trunk space in front made possible by the lack of an engine. ...This year’s special treat was to have the Tesla electric cars on display. The fully electric car has no engine, does need fuel or oil and does not emit any unsafe fumes. There is currently a 2-year waiting list for the vehicle.
